Father Edward Murray was born in Storm Lake , Iowa and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He attended Loras College for his BA degree in Philosophy. Then on to Major Seminary at Mt. St. Bernard’s in Dubuque . He attended summer school at Notre Dame and Iowa University in art. He was granted a Fulbright Scholarship to study art in Europe . Father Murray taught in high schools in Fonda, Fort Dodge , and Carroll and grade schools in Fonda, Whittemore, Algona, and Denison . His hobby is being a private pilot and flying to play golf.

Father Harry D. McAlpine, was born in Sheldon , Iowa . He graduated from Sheldon Public High School in 1953. He attended the University of Iowa , University of Minnesota , and the University of Colorado pursuing various degrees. He graduated from the St. Paul Seminary in 1987 with a Master of Divinity degree. Father was ordained a priest on May 30, 1987 following a twenty-five year banking career. He retired in Spencer on July 12, 2005 .

Principal, Ron Olberding, grew up on a farm near Varina, Iowa . He attended high school at Fonda O.L.G.C. and college at DMACC and Drake University. He taught 6th grade at Ruthven/Ayrshire for 7 years and at Spencer Lincoln Elementary for 6 years. He became principal at Sacred Heart in 1991. His wife, Carol, is a Physician Assistant at Avera Clinic, Ron's daughter Andrea is in Education Graduate School at the University of Iowa, his son Matt is at Iowa State University in engineering, and son Jay is a junior at Spencer High School . His hobbies are boating with his family, pheasant hunting, playing tennis, playing cards, and watching sporting events.
