Rosary weekends at Sacred Heart will place on the third weekend of each month. Saturday Rosary will be after the 4:00 PM Mass and the Sunday Rosary will take place prior to the 10:30 AM Mass.
Since 1982, Sacred Heart Rosary Makers have been making mission rosaries that have been sent to hospitals, prisons, religion classes and missionaries who have distributed them where they are needed. One missionary had a parish of 25,000 people. He would only get to each village every two months. In the meantime, his parishioners would pray the rosary. They have a great devotion to the rosary and were very grateful to receive them.
Rosary Makers meet in the Parish Center the first Tuesday of each month from April through November. These meetings are motivational, informal gatherings. Each member purchases their own rosary making pliers if they are going to make rosaries with wire. Some of the group also makes cord rosaries. Supplies to make the mission rosaries are provided by the group and available for all members to use. Presently, rosaries are being taken to Trinity Heights in Sioux City to be distributed to their visitors.
New members are needed and welcomed any time as there is always a need for more rosaries.
Rosaries for First Communion, Confirmation and any other events are in a display case on the wall in the southeast corner of the church. These are also available for purchase.
